CM Racing unveil striking red-and-white Panigale V2 at the Colosseum in Rome
After completing a test day at Vallelunga, the team headed to the Italian capital to officially launch their 2022 campaign
It was a busy day for CM Racing recently as they completed a day of testing before heading to the Italian capital of Rome, and the iconic Colosseum, to officially kickstart their 2022 campaign with rider Maximilian Kofler. Austrian Kofler will race on a Ducati Panigale V2 in his debut WorldSSP campaign with a stunning red-and-white livery, a massive change by the team from the blue used in 2020.
The unveiling of the Panigale V2 came in front of the historic Colosseum in Rome, the largest ancient amphitheatre built, with the team choosing the iconic landmark to show off their new-for-2022 colours and rider. After the photoshoot at the Colosseum, the team were presented in front of an audience to kick off their 2022 season in style.
CM Racing’s trip to Rome came after a day of testing at the Vallelunga circuit, situated just under an hour away from Italy’s capital, where they were able to continue their work from a Portimao test at the beginning of February. It allowed the team to continue understanding the Panigale V2, which is entering WorldSSP for the first time, while also giving Kofler a chance to continue his adjustment from Moto3™.
Manuel Cappelletti, Team Director, said: “It has been an intense day, but a profitable one. In the test in Vallelunga we understood some interesting things, which will certainly help us in the development of the bike, and the presentation was very exciting. To pose with the bike in front of the Colosseum I think it was a great emotion for everyone, which we will take with us to give our best during the season.”
21-year-old Kofler, competing in WorldSSP after two full seasons in Moto3™, added: “I am really fascinated by the livery of the bike, which in a way also looks fast. Of course, I hope to be fast on the track, and to get great results. This presentation has confirmed the great feeling that has already been created between me and the team, so I can say that we are ready to start.”
